Rutland Water Camping Weekend (part 3)

Sunday
An altogether different day’s sailing. Gillian joined the rest of us for a second attempt at our lunch rendezvous near the golf course. We made slow but steady progress in the light winds and hot sunshine. Dick and Linda left us at about half way as they had a long drive ahead of them. But Chris Yardley, Costin, Eddie, Gillian and Jo and I finally made it to the usual muddy beach where we anchored before finding a suitable log to sit on. Lunch was followed by a gentle downwind sail back. Jo took the helm of aurora so that I could get comfortable, bask in the sunshine and enjoy the scenery. It was one of those wonderfully rare occasions when I can allow myself a chance to relax. And, it seems that in late June summer had finally arrived.
