2011 - A Great Year For Gull Sailing

It's getting colder and winter seems to be here now. I shall be sailing the Lightning at my new club (West Oxford) through the winter whenever the lake is not frozen. I will still be sailing the Gull whenever I can but I'm already preparing next season's Gulling. I removed my bent self bailers today. I noticed they were both bent after sailing at Rutland. I must have rolled the boat off the road trailer with them open. Anyway, one is broken beyond repair and the other has been salvaged as I managed to straighten it. I'll be replacing the bailers when I receive the new parts and I shall write about this fiddly operation in a future post.
It has been a great year for Gull sailing. Above are some pictures I've been sent by fellow Gull sailors. Please keep them coming. Your pics and write-ups keep us ticking over through the winter months. I will eventually get around to posting all of those I've been sent so far. These pictures of our recent Rutland trip where sent to me by George Curral. I'm still not sure why I was making a rabbit sign behind my own back in one of the photos. But then I'm not sure why I do a lot of the things I do.................
